Bad news for HD DVD, Universal pulls out of exclusivity contract.
Things are not looking to good for HD DVD at the moment Daily Variety has confirmed that Universal’s agreement to stick with HD DVD has ended and they have decided not to renew the contract. This is not the first troubling bit of news for HD DVD recently as Warner have signed up to a Blue-Ray exclusivity contract and Paramount have an escape contract that can let them just ship following the Warner departure.

Happy new year to all the readers of our blog. We apologise for the lack of updates in the past month, we have been extremely busy with other projects and also being drunk during the break!
Hopefully things will pick up on the blogging front now we have sobered up.
Lack of posts
Just a quick post to apologise for the site being so quiet the past couple of weeks. I have been very busy with other projects as we get close to Christmas. My BenQ G2400W finally arrived though and I have had chance to play around with the Zotac Geforce 8800GT so I will try and post about these today.
I have also just added a contact page as reader could not contact me, so any readers needing any information can now use our contact form.
Foxconn offer free hardware and money with Scholarship Program
I think this is a brilliant move by Foxconn. They are asking overclockers to sign up to their scholarship program in order to overclock some of their hardware
Basically if you get accepted you will receive a full range of hardware (including CPU, memory, graphics, motherboard) AND cash sponsorship for LN2 or other extreme cooling techniques.
Not only will you receive all these free items but you will get chance to try out pre-release hardware with aims of setting new overclocking records.
As much as I would love to sign up for this program I dont think my overclocking skills are quite up to it!

Sony to release even cheaper PS2
Apparently Sony will be releasing another version of the PS2, again a slimline version however this time the unit will have a built in power supply. Initial estimates on pricing are £75 which is a bargain in anyone’s books.

Wall Street Journal: Google will announce Phone Plans on Monday
According to the Wall Street Journal we won’t have to wait much longer to hear from Google about its big plans in wireless. The company looks set to make a splash in the mobile market on Monday, announcing an alliance with various handset makers and cellphone operators around the world that are willing to push its “open” platform for cellphone applications, sources say. It’s always possible the announcement’s timing could change, but Monday looks like the day at this point.
